Happy Halloween!

Hey all! Happy Halloween!
Spent my morning making my Baked Turkey Penne for our work potluck. Mmmmm...I can't wait for lunch! I even whipped up a batch of garlic butter (with LOADS of garlic, parmesan, and italian herbs). Oooh we even have cake! "Excuse me, can you just leave that over here by my desk? Thank you!"

Weather is typical gray and wet for Halloween. Ah well... At least on Sunday we get an extra hour to sleep in! Woo hoo!

Ok here is my 2nd item on my Ulitmate Wish List:

A HOUSE ORGANIZER!! ok not one of those plastic things to put all your knick knacks in (no! not those knick knacks!... well I guess you could...) but a real live person that comes into your home and helps you organize it and clean it (well...sometimes). I need my whole house done! It's a friggin mess!!!!!!!! I am so unable to organize by myself. I just don't have the ability!
Ok and here is my shameless adverstisement for my favourite organizer Melissa! I only wish I could afford to pay her to do my whole house!

Ok so I have to give a plug out to Meg Cabot (yes the author of Princess Diaries). I have her diary/blog on my rss feed but I don't know if I can add her to my blogger list as she is not on blogger itself. Therefore I must put her diary link here -->http://www.megcabot.com/diary/?p=626#comments

Ok so about 1 in 10 she talks about her upcoming books but in the meantime she writes about anything and most of the time it's hilarious. And yes her books have the same flow as her blogs do. Yes, she is That funny. lol Her last blog cracked me up.

Check her out at www.megcabot.com as well as on MySpace (you can click on her face on MyFriends) Also check out her diary (which you can find on her main page as well).

Enjoy!

My Beef of the Day

Ok so I was looking at the newspaper while faxing and affadavit and noticed that seattle had a Wedding Expo for what they call "non-traditional" couples. aka Gay Wedding Expo. And I thought well that's cool but isn't gay marriages not recognized by Washington? So I read on and I had no clue but any gay couple who had been married prior to the ban was automatically no longer recognized and legal after the ban...well that is crap! I mean I know not everyone agrees with gay marriage but to just decide well since we are banning it then anyone before this time is no longer married...at least they could have done is say well we don't do marriages from this time forward but anyone in the past is still married (even if we cut partner benefits yada yada yada) but at least the marriage is still binding...but how utter crap (actually inserted much worse word) to just decide no, even if you have been living in gay marital bliss for 10 years (not sure when they did start allowing it) then you are no longer married. In the words of Stephanie Tanner from Full House: "How Rude!" And in my words (as well as one of Gordon Ramsay's tamer lines) What complete and utter bullocks!!

My New Favourite Site

I have a new site to share that I have found. It's www.harrypotterfanfiction.com. It's fan fiction of the Magical kind. Ok so it's probably written by a bunch of over imaginative teenagers from all over the world obsessed with daydreaming about what happened to Harry next. I have to say that after reading some of the stories, I know why JK Rowling decided not to write any more follow up in her last book... Still the stories these people write and still fun and at times quite unique (seems to be a lot of stories of what if Hermione and Draco got together). Most of the stories containing "what happened after the Deathly Hallows" contain lots of crying and kissing and people getting married and having kids etc etc and maybe even a few reaccurances of Voldemort coming back from the dead, as well as a few other characters. The stories I am reading now are written by a writer, screenname LMB3. My only beef (though entertaining) is that she/he seems to make everyone fall in love and get engaged by the time they reach 17... Even having Albus (harry's son) falling in love at age 11 to an orphaned Witch from California. (the writer must be young) And lots of people in comas or coming back from the dead (she/he should write for Soap Operas). LMB3 still has managed however to entertain me and satisfy even the little "what happened next" I had milling around my brain.
http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com/viewstory.php?psid=230325 Chapter 37 Picking up the Pieces (what happened just after the DH chapters ended and before the epilogue)
http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com/viewstory.php?psid=231818 HP & The Legend of the Twelve (continues on from the Epilogue of DH)
http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com/viewstory.php?psid=241118 HP & The Final Chapter (about 5-6 years after the DH Epilogue, completing The Legend of the Twelve) This one is not complete BUT there are about 95 chapters (not very long chapters) complete out of a reported 100. By the time you finish the 95 the rest of the chapters should be complete.

NOTE: This person took into effect the books as well as interviews by JK Rowling but however did NOT catch the latest Family Tree on www.jkrowling.com in the Room of Requirement (Click the eraser/rubber on the main desk and then click on the door handle when you arrive) showing that Draco did not marry Pansy and that George's wife is not Linda (although they did have a son named Fred which LMB3 seemed to guess correctly). I assume she/he wrote these stories well before the Family Tree came out.

Ok now Im getting sick

I was fine until I reached my parents house now I am getting sick. My body was feeling a tad stiff after travelling for 4 hours so I took a couple IBProfs and went to bed. I woke up with a sore throat and achy body still! Oh dear... And my poor hubby is home alone with his poor hurty feet. Hopefully I won't get any sicker and will have no problem leaving tomorrow at a decent time. Pete's birthday is Monday so I need to be back to take him to Applebees or order in Applebees (Carside Rocks!). Luckily I have Tuesday off as well! We just won't tell work that I wasn't still in Chelan...Two weeks without Carolyn starting tomorrow! I will miss her but will enjoy the peace. And no honey, I can't leave the dog....

Weekend's Ruined...Thanks DHL...

Ok so it seems that I have NEVER had a problem or rarely have had a problem with anything being shipped to my house, but for some reason Everything wrong seems to happen to poor Pete. I think about half the packages that get sent to him the routing gets F-ed Up. Especially the times he needs them on a specific day. Now it's Pete's birthday on monday and we were all supposed to go over to Chelan (which we rarely get to do) and the stupid packages are still sitting at Seatac waiting to be sent out to the local hubs (which means deliver ON Monday when he was told and paid for next day-which should have been Friday). They are his presents he ordered for himself and was looking forward to them coming and play with them today so we could leave Sunday. But no, DHL or/and Fed Ex f-ed up again and ruined us going to Chelan... Care & I are leaving in about 30 min however so I can stay for at least a night before heading back home and spending Monday with my hubby (carolyn will be staying with grandma). This will be the first that we share together in person. I know I am sappy but I wanted to make sure that every holiday we missed being apart, we're together. So hopefully I can at least drag him out while we are childless for two weeks. :) I may need a can opener to pry him from his Electronic Dungeon....

Bringing Books to Work...

As I sit here at the front desk I typically see clients coming in, employees heading out for smoke breaks and lunch, and the occasional funny site of one of my colleagues heading out for his daily run with his trusty pooch...in a stroller (aging Dachsund). Yes I complain about my job but truthfully I do enjoy it. The people are great and I tend to receive off every day that I request. Ok, helps that my dad is the Owner. Today I Should be doing my work but I keep on getting distracted by a most entertaining book called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...you may have heard of it? Yes, I did pre-order it and read it the day it came out (in one sitting), but my lovely husband has decided he actually does like Harry Potter and I have been slowly reading him (skipping most parts) the entire Harry Potter collection. I have been fine up until this point but now that we are on the last book (again) I find myself drawn to it and unable to put it down, even if I already know the ending. Just one more page, just one more chapter and then I will do one more piece of work. I even find myself sneaking into the restroom to read a chapter, pretending that my lunch is the only reason I'm locked in there for 15-20 minutes. Alas I am getting closer to the finish line and am taking Monday and Tuesday off to visit my parents. Hopefully I will get it done in time so Wednesday is only devoted to work, and my slacking is my own doing and not due to my draw to another novel...

PS. If anyone has an suggestions on books to read let me know. I am almost finished the two books i am reading now.

Susie Foo

Ok so I was asked what is Susie Foo? A long time ago I was addicted to CD Compilations on ITunes and I used to make tons of cds with my favourite themed tunes on them and labeled them things like Susie Foo Sad & Somber, Susie Foo Pished (lots of drunken rock songs), That's Susie Foo to You!, etc etc. Pete thought it was quite funny and it stuck, especially when I made him a Susie Foo Love cd. I think a lot of them were hard rock, kick ass songs that basically told people to piss off. You know with lots of Heart & Dixie Chicks. (this is angry singleton, pre-Pete Susie Foo who couldn't get a date even if she dangled a tater tot casserole & frog eye salad from her head at a church social). Looks like it all came out allright, ditched the church social and prim boys who wanted a 2nd mother to marry, and started the rock albums and love cds (when Pete arrived) and enjoyed eating out more than cooking. I have yet to start a new album as I have ditched the Mac (not by choice but by lack of fundage) and Itunes (as it sucks on Vista, as does everything else). I may actually have to start understand Windows Media Player now just so I can make another compilation cd. Any ideas for a theme?

Born Again Blogger

Ok so I've blogged before but not for quite a while. Mostly I have just stuck to the addictive element of the endless survey, but never quite saying what exactly was on my mind. I am hoping that starting this blog that I will get more ideas and thoughts out and perhaps, just perhaps, come up with better ideas for that book I want to write. Right now I am going to keep this limited to those I invite so if anyone has a friend that wants to sign on let me know and i will add them. Uhh.. I think just Julie and Kellie are the only ones I know on this... Perhaps we will keep each other sane is this blogging world and try not to laugh Everytime the word Blog is said...
